We are expanding our pub company business, both in the UK and France and more excitingly have just opened a new iconic brewery in Bedford, Brewpoint. The beer agenda is eclectic!

We are now recruiting for a Packaging & Engineering Manager, to plan and execute maintenance on all production equipment, and to lead the team to package amazing beers of superb quality at the right time and to budget.

The Role:
Planning of packaging activities to ensure production plan is met.
Ensures the integrity and reliability of plant by implementing and effectively administering maintenance systems for all brewing and packaging equipment.
Ensures the brewery complies with relevant legislation and regulations by maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and ensuring all surveys and fees are completed and paid on time.
Ensures capital projects are completed on time and within budget by co-ordinating and planning of work.
Provides and maintains cost effective services and utilities by maintaining an overview of the use of power, gas, water and trade waste.
Ensures the Brewery operates within company SHE standards.
Motivate the entire brewery team to continually improve safety, quality and efficiency.
Manage team and personal development including implementation and maintenance of PDR.
Ensure Brewpoint comply with all govt. regulations required in food production facilities.
Ensure all paperwork and QC checks are completed in-full to an acceptable standard.
Complete packaging raw materials stock take and advise stock required to complete upcoming production.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. This role is expected to put forward ideas to improve product quality and brewery processes.
Control finances in packaging and maintenance through managing supplier contracts, setting budgets and regular financial reviews.
Represent the brewery at external events and speak to customers and consumers to promote Wells products and culture.
Manage the use of agency staff to meet production requirements within budget.
What we are looking for:
A qualified artisan, preferably demonstrating both mechanical and electrical skills
Experience in a FMCG packaging environment, preferably beer
Experience in developing and implementing maintenance systems
A flexible and hands-on approach! You will be required to work shifts and working hours will change subject to schedules and production issues
A drive for continuous improvement and ability to drive change
Proven planning and scheduling skills with a natural flair for problem solving
A confident communication style, as you will be liaising with various stakeholders daily
