Job Description


We are currently seeking a Fitter / Machinist to complement our existing team to support with the manufacture of our machines.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Production / Design Manager, this role is responsible for fitting and machining operations in accordance with work instructions and drawings. You will also be responsible for safe and accurate operation of conventional metal cutting machinery. This includes lathes, drillers, millers and saws in the production of stainless steel and aluminium components ensuring that completed parts are measured to the correct specification. Other duties include;

Main duties will include:

Fabricate, machine and assemble components and assemblies for checkweighers, metal detection systems and vibratory conveyors.
Use conventional machining equipment such as lathes, millers, pillar drills.
Read and interpret Engineering Drawings.
Learn to operate any new machining equipment as and when required.
Carry out necessary checks and quality assurance of products as per specifications.
Assist with any other task as required in line with business needs and requirements within your skill set and experience.

Skills & Experience Required:

Experience of working on a shop floor environment.
Must be conversant with conventional lathes / millers.
Possess a good understanding of engineering drawings.
Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required.
Have the ability to work within a team or on your own initiative and able to solves problems.
Possess a ‘can do’ attitude, ability to multi task with attention to detail and quality being paramount.
Be flexible and agreeable to work variable locations to suit the business needs.
