The role

The OU’s OpenLearn website offers free informal learning to members of the public and in order to improve this service further, we are in the process of upgrading this application and are seeking 2 experienced IT Developers to support with the creation of high-quality software.

The role holder will work effectively with team members to create and maintain varying high quality applications that adhere to standards and quality requirements. On a daily basis you will provide your technical input to the analysis of business requirements, help write technical specifications, and develop the software code for the required solution, whilst following an agile scrum methodology.

Both roles will require you working with PHP on a daily basis so previous experience of PHP is essential as is experience on Moodle. However, experience of similar PHP platforms such as Drupal or WordPress would be considered.

Skills and experience

Are you a confident IT Developer possessing previous experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript?
Can you develop web applications using PHP?
Do you have experience developing for the Moodle learning platform or similar platforms such as Drupal or WordPress?
Do you possess knowledge and experience in software development methodologies such as agile and waterfall?
Are you a confident in finding resolutions to complex, technical problems whilst understanding the importance of customer needs?
